Walnut Leaves Falling---School Beginning

Updated: Oct 5, 2023

The thirty-five walnut trees in our back yard continue to shed their leaves. Yellow whirls spiral to the ground, and my thoughts return to my teaching years. I've been retired four years, now, but the memories of those teacher dreams and heading back to school remain. I miss the students, the lessons, and the camaraderie of my peers. I do not miss inservice meetings, or, for that matter, meetings of any kind, grading papers and SLOs, PPGs, and all that other stuff that interferes with teaching. Hope all you teachers out there have a productive, rewarding, and glorious year with your students!!!
